Social Insurance Number Verification

Share

Did you know?
The Employment Insurance Regulations in Canada require that each new hire must produce proof that their Social Insurance Number is issued legally before they can be added to the payroll. Verification is done through a visual inspection of the Social Insurance Card or other government issued proof such as a recent T4. If the SIN number starts with a “9” you will need to verify with Service Canada that the SIN has not expired.
